Our Story

We’re Kayanna and Jamion, the founders of Treetop Tutoring, and our journey began as parents simply trying to help our own children succeed in school. During the pandemic, we became deeply aware of the learning gaps many students were experiencing. Like many families, our daughters needed extra academic support, so we hired a tutor to help identify their challenges and provide personalized instruction. The transformation we saw in their confidence and progress was incredible, and it opened our eyes to how powerful individualized tutoring can be.

That experience inspired us to create a tutoring program that could help more students. We first launched Treetop as a small virtual tutoring service, offering personalized academic support for students who needed help catching up and building stronger study habits. After nearly a year, we realized our mission was bigger than a traditional tutoring business. Too many families who needed tutoring the most simply could not afford it.

That realization led us to establish Treetop Tutoring Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the educational opportunity gap.

What We Do Today

We provide virtual and in-person tutoring for students in grades 2–12, supporting learners in math, science, reading, English Language Arts (ELA), and study skills. Our professional tutors begin each student’s journey with a personalized intake session to understand their strengths, challenges, and learning style so we can create a customized plan for success.

Our mission is to empower students in underserved and under-resourced communities through personalized tutoring and mentorship. Guided by our core values of honesty, respect, accountability, and quality, we are committed to helping every student gain the skills, confidence, and academic support they need to thrive in school and beyond.
